A Message to Students from Provost Reed

Dear University of La Verne Students:
Over the past several weeks, your faculty and staff have been working hard to make sure that the University of La Verne’s transition to online classes and virtual support is smooth and successful.
We are committed to make sure that a personal touch, the hallmark of a University of La Verne education, happens online and in a virtual environment even amidst the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.
To make sure you are aware of the support services available to you and kept up to date on information, please frequently check the Student Resources and Information link on the laverne.edu/coronavirus web page. This includes links for virtual tutoring, Blackboard technical support, computer equipment check-out, advising, and tips for coping with stress.
In addition, Faculty Senate approved an exception to catalog policy for the spring semester and term: all undergraduate students may opt into credit/no credit for any or all of their classes until the end of the semester and term. Graduate programs will announce by March 27 options for their students, after reviewing with accreditation bodies and outside agencies.
The pandemic has created extraordinary challenges for each of you and your families. We are doing our best to ensure that your education continues at a high quality in a virtual world. We welcome your feedback on how we are doing, and ask that you communicate frequently with your faculty and advisors.
