Important COVID-19 Update

Dear University Community,

Due to a sharp increase in the number of reported cases of coronavirus in Los Angeles County, the Department of Public Health has announced that face coverings must again be worn at all times while indoors in public spaces, regardless of an individual’s vaccination status.

To comply with this mandate, the University of La Verne will require that all employees, students, vendors, and visitors wear face coverings while in university buildings, with limited exceptions, beginning on Sunday, July 18.

Individuals may wear their own face covering or one provided by the university. Face coverings may be of any material that effectively prevents droplet transmission.

This requirement will remain in place until it is lifted by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

Additional details will be included in our La Verne Safe Return plan and at laverne.edu/coronavirus as they become available from the health department.

As a reminder, the university is requiring that students and employees be vaccinated against COVID-19, with exceptions for religious, medical, ADA, or personal reasons.

The evidence continues to show that vaccination remains the most effective measure we can take to protect ourselves and each other from this virus and to slow its spread.

Please visit univ.lv/vaccination to submit proof of your vaccination or request an exemption.

Thank you again for doing your part to ensure a safe return to our campuses and a successful academic year.

Sincerely,

Devorah Lieberman, PhD
President
