The University of La Verne has received nearly $3 million from the federal Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) that we will distribute directly to students who have exceptional financial need due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Higher education employees will be able to register and receive vaccinations in Phase 1B-Tier 1. Most counties are in Phase 1A, with Phase 1B-Tier 1 projected to be next.
Only authorized employees engaging in essential work that cannot be done remotely may come to campus at this time.

Given the continued spread of COVID-19 and our need to plan for the rest of the academic year, the university is making the prudent decision at this time to remain remote through the spring semester and term.
This academic year may be unlike any other, but I am confident that it will be rewarding and productive. I would like to share with you the following updates on the university’s plans for winter and spring.
As you know, the coronavirus pandemic continues to shape the way we teach, learn, and do business. Below are several updates on the university’s ongoing response to the pandemic, and on measures we are taking to ensure a safe and successful learning and working environment for the fall and beyond.
Over the past several days, the California and Los Angeles County Departments of Public Health have issued long-awaited guidelines for colleges and universities that allow us to finalize several key details of our COVID-19 response plans for fall, specifically related to campus housing and limited in-person instruction.
After careful consideration of public health data, and given that existing state and county public health guidelines do not allow for on-campus operations, the University of La Verne will now begin the fall semester and term with primarily remote teaching and learning across all campuses, and only essential on-campus operations.
We are pleased to share with you that the United States Immigrations and Customs Enforcement has announced that it will no longer require international students to leave the United States if they choose or are required to study fully online this fall.

The University of La Verne is planning to phase in appropriate face-to-face and on-campus operations in fall 2020 across all campus locations, while keeping the health and safety of students, faculty, and staff as the top priority.
The University of La Verne has received $2.8 million to distribute directly to students from the federally legislated Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Students may now apply for these grants.
As the end of the semester approaches, we want to share with you the university’s plans for the summer and coming fiscal year, which begins on July 1.
To help students remain on track with their education through the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of La Verne is proud to announce that it will award additional scholarships to all students who enroll in classes for the summer term. We will also teach all summer classes online to ensure a safe and healthy learning and working environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

We launched the Student Emergency Fund several weeks ago to provide limited emergency financial assistance to currently-enrolled students who are unable to pay for immediate, essential expenses due to the novel coronavirus. Undergraduate, graduate, and adult learners at the University of La Verne may now apply for grants from the fund online at univ.lv/sef.
