{"id":2709,"date":"2015-11-19T16:09:39","date_gmt":"2015-11-20T00:09:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/laverne.edu\/hr\/?page_id=2709"},"modified":"2017-12-01T16:48:51","modified_gmt":"2017-12-02T00:48:51","slug":"educational-studies-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/laverne.edu\/hr\/educational-studies-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational Studies Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Undergraduate Educational Studies Program at the University of La\u00a0Verne invites applications for an adjunct position.\u00a0 We seek a faculty colleague to join a high achieving, dynamic, and collaborative Department of Education and Teacher Development.\u00a0 Our goal is to prepare professionals to successfully teach in a rapidly changing society and to make positive contributions to the learning of K-12 students.\u00a0 Applicants with diverse backgrounds and urban experiences who can help us achieve these goals are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<h3>Qualifications:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Earned master\u2019s degree in Education or subject matter field from a regionally accredited institution.<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of scholarly commitment (conferences, committees, published works)<\/li>\n<li>Experience Teaching (level dependent upon course)<\/li>\n<li>Technology Skills (some online\/hybrid teaching required)<\/li>\n<li>A commitment to and experience working with diverse student populations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Responsibilities:<\/h3>\n<p>Teach undergraduate undergraduate-level educational studies courses at any of our regional campuses.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must be willing to travel to Bakersfield, Newhall, Ontario,\u00a0Ventura, and Victorville to teach in the following subjects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Foundations of Education<\/li>\n<li>Children\u2019s Literature in the Classroom<\/li>\n<li>Instructional Approaches to Physical Education<\/li>\n<li>Visual &amp; Performing Arts for the Elementary Teacher<\/li>\n<li>Teaching K-8 Social Studies<\/li>\n<li>Instructional Approaches to Mathematics<\/li>\n<li>Science for Elementary Teachers<\/li>\n<li>Senior Seminar for Educational Studies Majors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please see the list of <a href=\"https:\/\/laverne.edu\/hr\/adjunct-faculty-qualification-overview\/\">Faculty Qualifications <\/a>for available courses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application:\u00a0 <\/strong>To apply for this position, please contact Lisa Drewry at <a href=\"mailto:&#108;hil&#108;&#64;l&#97;ver&#110;e.&#101;&#100;&#117;\">&#108;h&#105;&#108;&#108;&#64;l&#97;&#118;&#101;rn&#101;&#46;&#101;du<\/a> to request an adjunct faculty application form.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply: <\/strong>\u00a0<em>Submit your application electronically<\/em> to Lisa Hill at lhill@laverne.edu\u00a0\u00a0 (PDF format preferred.)\u00a0 Please attach the following documents to your electronic submission:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Adjunct faculty application.<\/li>\n<li>A current and complete curriculum vitae.<\/li>\n<li>A one-page philosophy of teaching statement.<\/li>\n<li>Names, addresses (titles and institutions), telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses of three references.<\/li>\n<li>Unofficial copies of transcripts of undergraduate and graduate degree programs completed.
