For example, if the number of participants exceeds 200, consider providing incentives to no more than 100 participants.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are <strong>offering an incentive<\/strong> (drawing, raffle, payment for survey taking, etc.), and are using an electronic survey platform, a question can be set up at the end of the survey that directs applicants to another survey that will collect contact information. This will keep names, email address, etc. separate from the survey responses. This may assist in making sure studies are anonymous or well-protected confidential.<\/li>\n<li>For incentives, <strong>instructions for verifying receipt<\/strong> of the incentive are required in the application.<\/li>\n<li>The La&nbsp;Verne\u00a0IRB recommends <strong>relatively small incentives<\/strong>, if any.<\/li>\n<li>According to Accounts Payable, incentives distributed in increments <b><u>over $25<\/u><\/b><b> <\/b>will necessitate completing a <b><u>tax form<\/u>\u00a0<\/b>for the participant. This <b><u>will<\/u><\/b> compromise anonymity procedures. Please plan your incentives accordingly to avoid compromising anonymity if your research design relies on anonymity.<\/li>\n<li>Check <strong>California state law for\u00a0raffles and drawings<\/strong>.
