Curated by Susanne Slavick
UNLOADED examines the historical and social issues surrounding the availability, use, and impact of guns from a number of perspectives, though none endorse them as a means to an end. Its artists shed light on the challenging and divisive issues surrounding firearms in America today, deploying art to develop critical dialogue and response. UNLOADED is organized by Susanne Slavick, who is the Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Art at Carnegie Mellon University.
The University of La Verne does not condone the use of violence of any kind. The images included in the “Unloaded” exhibition represent the artists’ freedom of expression.
