University of La Verne Celebrates Winter Commencement

More than 600 students celebrated their academic success at the University of La Verne’s 2017 Winter Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Jan. 28. All three ceremonies were at the university’s Sports Science and Athletics Pavilion.

The university cleared 936 students to graduate.

“We in this room and well beyond this room look to your leadership from this day forth,” said University of La Verne President Devorah Lieberman. “Class of 2017, in this time of celebration, this time of joy, this time of tremendous achievement, I want you to think big. Accomplish much, never give up, and always give back.”

Board of Trustees Chairman Luis Faura commended the important role family members have played in supporting graduates in their journey to commencement. He thanked students for participating in the rich diversity of the campus community.

“As a global citizen, we know that you will contribute to the betterment of this world,” Faura said.
