On November 10, President Devorah Lieberman sent the following message to the University of La Verne community.<\/em><\/p>\n

Dear University Community,<\/p>\n

Last month, I shared with you that classes and most business operations at the University of La Verne would be remote for the January and winter terms due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

Given the continued spread of COVID-19 and our need to plan for the rest of the academic year, the university is making the prudent decision at this time to remain remote through the spring semester and term, as well.<\/p>\n

We understand that many in our community are eager to return to campus. However, our top priority is the safety of our students, faculty and staff. In addition, we remain bound by strict state and county public health requirements, which continue to preclude us from most on-campus activity. At this time, we do not know when those requirements will ease, or when it will be safe to fully return to our campuses.<\/p>\n

Once state and county public health requirements allow, and in alignment with our La Verne Safe Return<\/a> protocols, we will safely phase in in-person activities such as labs and study halls and increase the number of students in the residence halls.<\/p>\n

Until we hear otherwise from LA County Department of Public Health officials, we will follow the following guidelines through the remainder of the academic year:<\/p>\n
