All tax preparation services are provided between the hours of 9 \u00a0a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Cogley Building, located at 2180 Third Street in La&nbsp;Verne, 91750.<\/p>\n<p>Scheduling an appointment time is strongly encouraged. While walk-ins are welcome, they will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis.<\/p>\n<p>Those interested in additional information on the VITA program or seeking to make an appointment can email <a href=\"mailto:&#86;I&#84;&#65;&#64;&#108;&#97;ve&#114;ne.e&#100;u\">&#86;ITA&#64;la&#118;&#101;&#114;ne&#46;ed&#117;.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is VITA?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is an IRS-sponsored community program that helps low -to- moderate-income (generally annual income is no greater $70,000) families and individuals located in La&nbsp;Verne and surrounding communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the cost?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All volunteers are IRS certified and will assist with both e\u2010filing and paper filing at no cost to the taxpayer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours (February 5 through April 9, 2022)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Saturdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to make an appointment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can make an appointment by emailing us at <a href=\"mailto:VIT&#65;&#64;la&#118;e&#114;&#110;&#101;&#46;&#101;du\">&#86;I&#84;A&#64;la&#118;&#101;r&#110;e&#46;&#101;&#100;u.<\/a> Walk-ins will be accepted on a first-come first serve basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to bring to the first day of your appointment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proof of identity (such as a valid driver\u2019s license or other government issued picture ID)<\/li>\n<li>Social Security Cards for you, your spouse and dependents and\/or a Social Security Number verification letter issued by the Social Security Administration<\/li>\n<li>Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) assignment letter for you, your spouse and dependents<\/li>\n<li>Birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents on the tax return<\/li>\n<li>Wage and earning statement Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, from all employers<\/li>\n<li>Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)<\/li>\n<li>Brokerage statements 1099-B and SSA 1099<\/li>\n<li>A copy of last year\u2019s federal and state returns if available<\/li>\n<li>Bank routing numbers and account numbers for direct deposit<\/li>\n<li>Total amount paid for daycare provider and the daycare provider\u2019s tax identifying number (the provider\u2019s Social Security Number or the provider\u2019s business Employer Identification Number)<\/li>\n<li>Form 1098-T Tuition Expenses<\/li>\n<li><strong>Form 1095A <\/strong>\u2013 issued by the Marketplace if you purchased health care insurance through the Marketplace in 2021<\/li>\n<li><strong>Exemption Certificate Number (ECN) <\/strong>\u2013 issued by the<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To file taxes electronically for a married couple filing joint tax return, both spouses must be present to sign the required
