The University of La Verne College of Law and Public Service<\/a> and\u00a0 Randall Lewis Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Social Impact\u00a0<\/a>is excited to offer a new forum for\u00a0 students, professionals and community leaders to connect, discuss, and collaborate over solutions to the latest legal and public service challenges.<\/p>\n

The first Curt Hagman Distinguished Lecture Series event<\/a>, held this Thursday, Feb. 1 in the collaborative space in the college at 320 E. D. Street. in the City of Ontario, will feature San Bernardino County’s Fourth District Supervisor<\/a>. During this interactive dialogue with Hagman, attendees will learn key insights on technology issues and trends impacting local government including smart city initiatives, open data and transparency, and blockchain for governance.<\/p>\n

Hagman’s district includes nearly 450,000 residents from \u00a0Chino, Chino Hills, Montclair, Ontario<\/span>. After being elected in 2014, Hagman spent the last decade focusing his work on improving trade agreements in sister cities, and working to bring opportunities to families, businesses, workers and non-profit organizations.<\/p>\n

The goal of\u00a0 the this lecture series is to share practical experiences and strategic perspectives\u00a0 from leaders in the field.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“The Curt Hagman Distinguished Lecture Series is a cornerstone event that brings significant value to both the academic community and broader society. This impactful series serves as a catalyst for intellectual growth, professional development, and community engagement,” said Suzanne Beaumaster, associate dean of\u00a0 public administration and professor in the college. “The first event promises to be particularly compelling. As the inaugural lecture, it sets the tone for the entire series, making it a must-attend for anyone interested in the intersection of governance, policy, and public service.”<\/span><\/p>\n
