The College of Law has been awarded a $20,000 planning grant from the Lewis Family.<\/p>\n

The law school will use the grant to explore the development of externships and live-client clinics. The law school plans to bring together professors and administrators from the law school with administrators from both the San Bernardino Public Defender\u2019s and District Attorney\u2019s offices.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very excited about receiving this grant,\u201d said Gil Holmes, the Dean of the Law School. \u201cIt gives us a lot of flexibility to explore community-based clinics and other types of activities that bring us closer to the people we serve. I commend the Lewis Family and the Office of Community and Civic Engagement for creating this opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The focus of the team will be developing a third-year law school curriculum that would feature advanced externships and several live-client clinics. The curriculum would enhance the health and wellbeing in the Inland Empire by connecting the law school\u2019s curriculum to the legal needs of the region\u2019s population.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
