Having spent more than 45 years providing quality educational opportunities to individuals involved in the nation\u2019s armed services, the University of La Verne has been recognized as California\u2019s No. 1 institution assisting veterans and active-duty members.<\/p>\n
In its 2015 Best Colleges for Veterans ranking, U.S. News and World Report listed La Verne as the only California school, public or private, in the National Universities category. The primary goal of the rating is to establish a list of top-ranked schools that offer veterans and active-duty personnel benefits that will help them pursue a college education.<\/p>\n
All listed schools meet specific criteria developed for the annual ranking. Each must be certified for the GI Bill\u00ae and be a member of the Service members Opportunity Colleges (SOC) Consortium. Private colleges and universities must also participate in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs\u2019 Yellow Ribbon Program, making additional funds available for a qualified student\u2019s education program without an additional charge to that individual\u2019s GI Bill\u00ae entitlement.<\/p>\n
Since 1969, La Verne has provided a supportive educational environment for men and women on active duty as well as those who have completed their service. Today they can take classes on the university campus in La Verne, at one of the university\u2019s regional campuses \u2013 including those located at Vandenberg Air Force Base and Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu\/Port Hueneme, or through La Verne Online. Studies can also continue when an individual receives a new posting, whether in the United States or around the globe.<\/p>\n
