Studio Art Minor

The minor in Studio Art is an opportunity to pursue visual art as an enhancement to a major in another discipline. It is an excellent interdisciplinary option for students with majors in areas such as business, education, philosophy, and science.

This minor gives a background in the fundamentals of the formal, technical, and theoretical concerns of the artist from both historical and contemporary perspectives. Students can prepare for a career as a professional artist or designer, for graduate study in art, or for teaching. The student majoring in art must complete the core requirements and those from his or her selected area of concentration: Design, Photography, or Studio Art.
