Students who want to participate in the peer mentoring program must go through the application process. Students can apply <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/YxuvP11fhr\">here<\/a> for the program.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0Students in our program are highly encouraged to:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify as Latinx &amp; are Pell Grant eligible<\/li>\n<li>Identify as a student of color &amp; are Pell Grant eligible<\/li>\n<li>Identify as STEM majors (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Math &amp; Kinesiology)<\/li>\n<li>Highly encouraged for students who identify as a first generation student (none of your parents or legal guardians have received a BA degree)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Mentee requirements:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend summer onboarding<\/li>\n<li>Weekly meetings with a peer mentor<\/li>\n<li>Monthly 1:1 meeting with grant staff<\/li>\n<li>Attendance at our monthly programming<\/li>\n<li>Academic coaching the 1<sup>st<\/sup> 6 weeks of school<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a 2.5 GPA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Program Benefits:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Support transitioning to college<\/li>\n<li>Individualized support from grant staff and mentor<\/li>\n<li>Professional development opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Textbook assistance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Mentors<\/h2>\n<p>Mentors are third, fourth, and transfer students who have been at the University for at least a year. These students have a passion for mentoring underclass students. Students who want to participate in the peer mentoring program must go through the application process.
