Dr. Flaten was a McKnight Fellow at the Guthrie Theatre, taught at Pomona College, designed big discos in the early 1980s, was an art director for Shakespeare Video, and was the performance consultant for the Bunker Hill Redevelopment, California Plaza in Los Angeles.
