Welcome to the University of La Verne, and thank you for visiting our site. I encourage you to learn more about our remarkable university.
The University of La Verne is a vibrant university with more than 8,300 full- and part-time students enrolled in more than 70 majors in four colleges – (1) Arts & Sciences, (2) Business & Public Management, (3) Education, and (4) Law. Each staff and faculty member is committed to providing every student with the best educational experience possible, so they can achieve their personal and professional goals. Our students continually achieve more than they ever imagined.
The University of La Verne is proud to have superlative faculty and staff. Many of our full-time faculty have real life experience in their academic discipline, and our part-time faculty are deeply experienced and committed professionals in their fields. The professors are invested in the success of our students and represent the changing demographics of the country. Many professors have multi-cultural roots and some were the first in their families to go to college. This is a significant advantage, as they have a thorough understanding of how to mentor first generation students and they are also adept at teaching students from households where parents and relatives have earned advanced degrees in higher education.
We are continually developing and improving new and distinctive curricula. The La Verne Experience explicitly links academic courses with corporations, government, and community organizations. You will have the opportunity, throughout your college career, to connect theory to practice, and to learn by doing.
Since my first visit to the University of La Verne campus in 2010, I have been impressed with the extent of administrative support that is provided and available for all students. Support ranges from registering for classes, advising for coursework and careers, assisting with writing skills, and adjusting to college life. Further, our courses and co-curricular activities are available to any student across our ten campuses and two military bases. The staff member across all of these campuses are dedicated to providing excellent services to help students achieve success.
I encourage you to explore the social and co-curricular activities available to our student body. To name just a few, these opportunities include athletics, Greek life, interfaith cooperation, spirituality, nationally recognized speakers and symposia, community engagement, multicultural advancement, and honor societies. These activities are available for every student, whether a commuter or campus resident, graduate or undergraduate.
I look forward to having you visit our campus to meet and talk with our students, faculty, and staff, and experience the dynamic energy that resonates throughout campus. This is an extraordinary time for the University of La Verne. I invite you to be a part of it. I look forward to seeing you on campus, stopping for a conversation, and hearing about your dreams, experiences, and aspirations.
