Nicholas Galvan
Manager, Music Department and Morgan Auditorium
Nikolai Galvan helps to support the Music department in their daily activities and administrative needs, as well as manages classes and events that occur in the Ann and Steve Morgan Auditorium.
He started playing music in elementary school, beginning with piano and clarinet in the school band for most of his early education. In his teenage years he gravitated towards drums, guitar, and started performing in local bands right out of high school. During this time he also began studying audio engineering at Citrus College, and started producing music on his own time. After graduating, he’d begin a long and successful career as a live sound engineer, working for the Candlelight Pavilion Dinner Theatre, The Fox Theatre in Riverside, and many local colleges. Nikolai has designed sound for over 100 different musicals and plays, as well as worked with several popular bands.
Nikolai returned to school after a few years out in the field, finishing his Bachelors in Music with the University of La Verne with a desire to get into education, where he would graduate with departmental honors. He would then find himself managing the music department he was once a student of. He is helping to revitalize and modernize the music program, supporting the students while advising the Song Writing Club, and has used his practical experience and knowledge to refurbish and update the campus Recording Studio.
He still produces music in his free time, and is currently working with an indie developer to score music for a new video game.
