Notetaking Assistive Technology

Genio Notes (formerly Glean) is a web-based and mobile note-taking tool provided only to students who have been approved for this specific accommodation through Accessibility Services. It is designed to support students who experience disability-related barriers to independently capturing or organizing lecture content.

Genio Notes allows students to:
  • Record lecture audio
  • Tag key moments and add notes in real time
  • Review and organize content after class
  • Access their notes across multiple devices
Gaining Access to Genio Notes

Students approved for this accommodation will receive an email invitation to create a Genio Notes account after signing the Digital Recording Agreement Form. Please check your inbox and spam folder for the invitation.

Skills Portal

Students can find quick videos giving them an overview of the key functions of Genio, and how to get the most out of their lectures with a structured note taking process. There are four different categories: Recording Audio, Using Recordings, Organizing Notes, and Genio Mobile. All of these videos are 4-minute overviews. 

Live Tutorial Registration

Students can join a live session with a Genio team member, who will demonstrate how to use and get the most from Glean.
