At the University of La Verne, students with an F-1 visa may apply to the traditional undergraduate experience on the La Verne Campus only.

Our Office of International Services and Study Abroad (ISSA) helps you through your educational journey here. In addition to setting up events and academic and cultural orientation, ISSA assists international students with I-20, visas, finding employment, and issues involving travel. You’ll also have the support of other student services, like tutoring, counseling, health center, and more.

Scholarships for International Students

The University of La Verne offers competitive merit scholarships to all qualified international undergraduate applicants. Awards are based on your GPA and test scores. Applying to the University of La Verne

The University of La Verne’s Office of Admission considers you an international applicant if you are a resident of another country and not a citizen of the United States or if you live in the United States but require a student visa to study here. The admission requirements for international undergraduate students vary depending on whether you apply as a freshman or transfer.

International Freshman Admission

If you are not a United States citizen and recently graduated from or will soon graduate from high school, you will be applying as an international freshman student.

International Transfer Admission

If you are not a United States citizen and attended another college or university after high school, you will be applying as an international transfer student.

English Proficiency Requirements

We want to ensure that our international applicants will be successful here at the University of La Verne, which is why we ask for proof of English proficiency as part of the application. All international applicants who aren’t citizens or permanent residents of an English-speaking country can demonstrate proficiency in English through a variety of sources:

  • PTE Academic exam
  • Transcripts showing completion of a college-level English course (transfers only).
