Programming

Peer mentoring is exclusive for students accepted into the program, but the office hosts workshops and other activities throughout the year that are open to the entire campus community.

First Gen Fridays

On the first Friday of every month, we celebrate our first-generation community, validate the first-generation experience (resiliency, success, and challenges), provide a space to develop community, and connect students to resources such as; Financial Aid. First Gen Friday activities are open to the entire campus community.

Monthly Luncheons

Our mentors and mentees meet for lunch once a month. The first half of the gathering is dedicated for workshops, while the second half is set aside for announcements, housekeeping, and mentor/mentee check-in time.

Skillshops

Skill-shops are free workshops that address a range of topics faced by college students, such as budgeting or relationship management. These workshops are run by office staff and are open to the entire campus community.

National First Gen Day

Nov. 8 is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the students, staff, and faculty who are the first in their families to attend college. The date coincides with the signing anniversary of the Higher Education Act of 1965. All activities are open to the entire campus community.
