In order to receive an additional $100 Club Grub for the Spring semester, you must have attended both Club Workshop 1 and 2 for this semester.
• WORKSHOP 1: Developing your Cultural Competency
Monday, April 16, 2018• 11:00 am – 12:00 pm @ CAMPUS CENTER- A
DESCRIPTION: This workshop will focus on how to become culturally competent when working and living with others. The Office of Student Life and the Office of Diversity and Inclusivity will be collaborating for this workshop in providing activities to gain an insight of how to utilize cultural/ diversity perspective as student leaders.
The workshop will be co-facilitated by Aracely Torres, Assistant Director, Office of Diversity and Inclusivity and Misty Levingston, Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs.
• WORKSHOP 2: How to Strengthen your Communication Style
Thursday, April 19, 2018• 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm @ CAMPUS CENTER- A
DESCRIPTION: This workshop is intended to help student leaders in learning how to best communicate with others in your organization, within and outside the La Verne community. Professor Ian Lising, who is the Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, will be leading the conversation regarding the following topics.
- How to communicate with your supervisor and subordinates?
- How to best work with others who have different communication styles?
- How to use communication for conflict resolution?
- How to understand cross-cultural communication?
