Dr. Ann Hills is an Associate Professor of Spanish and Chair of the Modern Languages Department. A California native, she earned her Bachelor’s degree at CSU, Northridge, and her Masters’ and Ph.D. at UCLA. She taught at UCLA, Occidental College, and Loyola Marymount before coming to ULV in 2001. Dr. Hills has always felt most at home in a multicultural environment and is passionate about issues of social justice. Her research and courses often deal with themes and representations of gender, race and sexuality within contemporary Latin American literature. Dr. Hills is a founding member and active participant of the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies Committee, the WGSS Curriculum Committee, and the annual “Engendering Diversity and Community” Conference Committee. She is thrilled to witness the implementation of the WGSS Minor and to offer courses within the program.
