University of La Verne students may study abroad on six continents for periods ranging from a few weeks to a full year. Through the BCA Study Abroad or Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) students can spend a semester studying in traditional places like England, France, and Japan, or in unique spots like Jordan, Ghana, and India. La Verne also offers short term study abroad programs during January Interterm and summer where students can travel and study in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
A variety of credits may be earned studying abroad depending on interest and (in some cases) the level of language proficiency. All courses taken with the Study Abroad program are accepted in transfer. It is highly recommended that interested parties meet with their advisor prior to leaving to discuss selection of course(s) so they can fit into a particular program and major. To ensure this, we recommend saving syllabi of courses taken.
Credit toward major or minor fulfillment depends upon departmental approval. It is important to work with the advisor when planning to study abroad.
