University of La Verne, Community Unite in March of Solidarity

More than 50 people from the University of La Verne and surrounding community carried signs in support of Muslims, refugees, and immigrants during a 2-mile walk from campus to the Islamic Center of Claremont in Pomona.

The group chanted messages of unity during the walk, getting supporting honks from passing motorists along the way. The marchers attended the Friday service upon reaching the mosque.

The event was organized by the university’s Office of Religious and Spiritual Life as well as the Office of Diversity and Inclusivity.
