Former College of Law Real Estate Faculty Member Dies
Robert E. Weiss, a longtime University of La Verne College of Law adjunct faculty member who taught real estate law, died on May 15 in Santa Barbara. He was 89.
Weiss, whose career spanned 56 years, partnered with founding Dean Paul Egly in a West Covina law firm before opening his own firm in 1973.
He was a noted expert in real estate law, and taught the subject at the University of La Verne beginning in the 1970s.
He moved from West Covina to Santa Ynez in the late 1980s, but continued to commute 2 ½ hours to his firm in Covina. He practiced law into his 80s.
