Dr. Roy Kwon

Roy Kwon currently serves as the Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. He is a quantitative sociologist by training with a focus on organizations and institutions as well as political economy and social change. Author of over thirty articles, most of which are published in top peer-reviewed journals, his research focuses on the areas of economic sociology, income inequality, and world-systems analysis. He received his BA from the University of California, Irvine and his MA and PhD from the University of California, Riverside.

Prior to his role as Interim Provost, Dr. Kwon began his career at the University of La Verne as a faculty member in 2012. Since that time, he held numerous administrative positions including the Interim Chair of Sociology and Anthropology, Program Director of the Honors Program, Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Associate Provost of Faculty Affairs and Academic Administration.
