Campus Times Wins the Gold
The Columbia Scholastic Press Association at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism has named the Campus Times a Gold Medal Award winner for overall hybrid (print and online) journalism publication excellence with “All Columbian Honors” in the Verbal/Writing category for the 2013-14 academic year. This distinction puts the Campus Times in the very highest tier of college newspapers across the nation and internationally.
The annual contest is judged by professional journalists and journalism educators, who score the publication’s print and online editions in “Essential,” “Verbal” and “Visual” categories on a 1,000 point scale.
The Campus Times earned a score of 937 out of 1,000 total points – including a score of 388 out of 400 possible points in the Verbal/Writing category.
Founded in 1925 at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, the Columbia Scholastic Press Association is one of the oldest, largest and most prestigious international student journalism organizations.
