La Verne Students are Finalists in Society of Professional Journalists TV Competition
Two videos produced by University of La Verne students have been selected as finalists in the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Competition in Region 11.
The two winning La Verne stories include: a feature news story on depression among university students, produced by Jetske Wauran as her senior project and a short profile of 100 year old local ceramicist, Harrison McIntosh, produced by Christian Reina, Scott Feuerhelm and Armando Tapia.
Regional winners will be announced at the SPJ conference in San Francisco April 17 and 18, 2015.
Winners in the regional competitions go on to compete in the national level against winners from other regions.
