U.S. News and World Report Ranks University of La Verne No. 8 Among California Private Universities
The University of La Verne ranks at 8th place among private institutions in California and 18th overall in the state, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings.
The 32nd annual U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings include 310 colleges and universities in its national universities ranking, an increase from 280 in the 2017 report. Despite the larger field, the University of La Verne moved up five places from the previous year in the national ranking, placing at No. 152.
“The University of La Verne has thrived over the past several years, and our rise in the U.S. News & World Report National Universities rankings is a reflection of that growth,” University of La Verne President Devorah Lieberman said. “Our peer assessments and the quality of our educational programs continue to be stellar, and our commitment to student success is undeniable. It is an exciting time to be a Leo.”
The Best Colleges rankings help college-bound students and their families make informed decisions about their college or university of choice.
U.S. News assessed more than 1,600 of the nation’s 3,000 four-year universities throughout the nation. Of the 310 included in the national list, 189 are public, 114 private and seven for-profit. The universities included provide undergraduate majors, master’s and doctoral degrees.
Universities are ranked based on numerous factors including peer and high school counselor assessment, retention, graduation rates, alumni giving and class size.
