University of La Verne Communications Dept. Wins Four WAVE Awards
Seven University of La Verne Communications Department students, alumni, and faculty members won Western Access Video Excellence (WAVE) Awards for their video productions. The awards are open to residents of California, Nevada, Colorado, Hawaii New Mexico, and Arizona.
The winners were announced at the Alliance for Community Media West region conference in Fresno on March 10. The university’s winners were:
- “Be Perfect,” Accesibility-Abled Programming (Community Producer) Lauren Van Lul and Paloma Bobadilla
- “Vicarious Living,” Dramatic Short (Community Producer) Alex Campione and Emily Bolka
- “Ramona Middle School Pop Show,” Music Programming (Community Producer) Ricky Rocha and Shane Rodrigues
- “Bonita High School Pop Show,” Music Programming (Professional) Don Pollock and Shane Rodrigues
Van Lul, Bobadilla, Campione, Bolka, and Rocha are students or recent graduates.
Rodrigues is an operation manager and an adjunct Communications Department professor. Pollock is a professor of communications and the station manager at LVTV.
