University of La Verne, Liaocheng University in China Agree to Educational and Cultural Exchange

The University of La Verne and Liaocheng University in China have signed an agreement that will allow the universities to collaborate on educational and cultural partnerships.

The agreement paves the way for dual degree programs, faculty and student exchanges, professional development, research collaborations, and other activities.

University of La Verne President Devorah Lieberman Liaocheng University Vice President Dou Jianmin signed the agreement on March 22 during a ceremony on the University of La Verne main campus.

“This kind of cross-cultural collaboration is incredibly valuable for students who want to be engaged global citizens,” Lieberman said. “Building bridges across borders fosters communication and respect, and I believe great things will come as a result of this partnership.”

Jianmin was accompanied to the University of La Verne by a Liaocheng delegation that included Runchi Qian, deputy director of international programs; Sun Dehai, dean of the School of Politics and Public Management; Mingyin Zhu, dean of the School of Civil Engineering; and Meng Han, dean of the College of Computer Science & Technology.

Joining Lieberman in welcoming the delegation was Homa Shabahang, vice president Vice President of Strategic Enrollment and Communications; Abe Helou, dean of the College of Business and Public Management; and Lawrence Potter, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Liaocheng University is a comprehensive university located in Liaocheng City. The university enrolls more than 33,000 students and offers 88 undergraduate and 98 graduate degree programs.
