University of La Verne Kinesiology Students Volunteer for Anaheim Ducks Fitness Program
Four University of La Verne kinesiology students helped hundreds of children prepare for state physical fitness testing during the Anaheim Ducks Captain’s Challenge Fit Finals in late March.
Jennifer Munoz, Jessie Iniquez, Nicolas Solomon, and Michael Partida worked with children on the sit and reach exercise, which measures lower body flexibility, said Paul Alvarez, professor of kinesiology.
The event at the Honda Center in Anaheim drew more than 1,400 elementary school students and more than 200 volunteers. The children were also tested in running, trunk lift, curl up, and pushups.
The event was created by University of La Verne alumnus Jason Cooper ’03, a fan development marketing coordinator for the Ducks.
