Education Leader Candace Singh Joining LaFetra College of Education
Prominent K-12 and higher education leader, expert, and national speaker Candace Singh, EdD, is set to join the University of La Verne’s LaFetra College of Education as the new clinical professor of leadership and inaugural superintendent-in-residence July 3.
The new roles were created to enhance the Organizational Leadership Doctoral Program through increased development training, pathways to leadership, and partnerships, while contributing to the college’s ongoing commitment to developing effective leaders and advocates for equity and access in education. Singh, an alumna of the doctoral program, will also be responsible for launching a new center in the college focused on educational leadership and bridging educational and career opportunities.
“Candace Singh’s addition to the LaFetra College of Education is a significant milestone for our program,” said MD Haque, dean of the college. “Her transformative work as a turnaround principal and superintendent, coupled with her exceptional ability to create empowering educators, will undoubtedly inspire and empower our students to become exceptional leaders in the field of education.”
Singh brings more than 33 years of experience and expertise in K-12 and higher education, most recently as the superintendent of the award-winning Fallbrook Union Elementary School District in Southern California for over a decade. She has taught higher education for more than 20 years and is a national school district and organization leadership development coach, speaker, and consultant. Her work has garnered statewide and national recognition, including the prestigious California 2022 Exemplary Woman in Education Award by the Association of California School Administrators.
