Students Translate Entrepreneurial Skills into Charitable Contributions

Students in the College of Business Integrated Business Program presented nearly $15,000 in donations to local and national charities during a ceremony at the Sara and Michael Abraham Campus Center.

The program gives students hands-on experience in entrepreneurship-from forming companies and writing business plans to marketing products and generating sales – while teaching social responsibility. Since its inception, students have raised nearly $470,000 for local charities and generated almost $1.1 million in sales.

Charities benefiting from the most recent cohort’s efforts include the West End Shelter for Animals; David & Margaret Youth & Family Services; Cure Alzheimer’s Fund; House of Ruth; and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
