What is the La Verne Portal?

It is The Universities central location for many applications you will use. Only the Campus community has access to this private domain. Once you have access and can log into the La Verne Portal, you can view important data.

How to access the La Verne Portal?

  1. Open a browser and go to https://laverne.edu
  2. Click on MyLaverne at the top center of your screen.
  3. Click La Verne Portal at the top of the left column.

What is the difference between LaVerne Portal and MyLaverne Directly?

LaVerne Portal is for students who have a La Verne Gmail account.

MyLaVerne Directly is for students that do not have a La Verne Gmail account.

What username and password do I use to login to the La Verne Portal?

  • If you are a new user with a La Verne Gmail account please click here to receive this information by Personal email (ex. Hotmail, yahoo). For further instructions click here.
  • If you are a current user please use your La Verne email.

Forgot your password for the La Verne Portal?

Who is a new user in the La Verne Portal?

A new user is someone who has never logged into or accessed the La Verne Portal. There are rare cases where someone is a current student and has never logged into the La Verne Portal. If so, please click here to get access.

Who is a current user in the La Verne Portal?

A current user is someone who has successfully accessed the La Verne Portal. This does not mean you have to be a current student i.e. alumnus can still continue accessing the La Verne Portal.

How to view what Personal Email is in the MyLaVerne system?

  1. To set up a personal Email click here
  2. User ID = your Student ID Number
  3. PIN = if this is your first time logging in your PIN is your birthdate in MMDDYY, format.
    1. NOTE: if you have logged in before and do not remember your PIN, you may reset it by providing the correct answer to your security question, otherwise contact your Academic Adviser for assistance.
  4. Next click the link “Email Information”
  5. Next click the link “Update your E-mail address(es)”.
  6. Next select ‘Personal Email Address’ in the drop down menu and click ‘Submit’
  7. Enter your Personal E-mail address and click ‘Submit’
  8. Your Personal E-mail should now be updated in the school’s system.

Portal First Time Users FAQ

How do I setup my La Verne Portal account?

  1. Go to the La Verne Portal https://myportal.laverne.edu/ log in page.
  2. Click the ‘First time user’ link. Enter your Student ID, Last Name, and Role (student).
  3. Once you have entered this information you will receive a success message and an email sent to your personal email in our school’s system. You will receive your log in username and temporary password in the email.
  4. Click this link here enter your username and temporary one time use password.
  5. The next step will be to reset your password. Make sure you follow the password guidelines in order to correctly set your password click OK.
  6. You will now be able to gain access to the La Verne Portal.

How do I update a Personal Email account in the MyLaVerne system?

  1. To update a personal Email click here

What are the Faculty Resources I have access to?

  • There is access to sensitive information not available on the Universities website.
  • Access to the HR Portal which contains benefit information, policies, important forms and more.
  • There are communities you can create for your students or fellow faculty members and have a private discussion group, share documents and more.
  • As a faculty member, you can also check your class roster, class schedule, input grades, check library account and more.
  • Your employee email account is available with access to the Universities Address book with contact information for faculty/staff .
  • Access to Blackboard allows you to develop and manage online or web assisted classes.

What are the Staff Resources I have access to?

  • There is access to sensitive information not available on the Universities website.
  • Access to the HR Portal which contains benefit information, policies, important forms and more.
  • As a staff member, you can also check the departmental budget, go to Banner INB, search contact information for a faculty or staff, create or track a service desk work order and more.
  • Your employee email account is available with access to the Universities Address book with contact information for faculty/staff.
  • There are communities you can create for your Departments. You can post important departmental information, discussion group, share documents and more.

How to Access Blackboard

  • Web Address/URL: https://bb.laverne.edu
  • Username:  The username is the first portion of the La Verne email account. So if the email is jane.smith@laverne.edu, then the username is jane.smith.
  • Password: Use the forgot your password tool on the login page to reset/create a password.
