Fire Relief Grant Fund Application

The Fire Relief Grant Fund has been set up to assist University of La Verne students (currently enrolled) and employees (full-time, part-time, adjunct) who lost their homes in the recent Southern CA fires in January of 2025.  We will be raising funds during the month of February and will be able to disburse grant funds to our community members impacted by the fires in early March.  We do not know how much money will be raised, but we will distribute the funds among all who apply and meet the eligibility requirements for this special grant.

Because the federal government has declared the January 2025 fires in Southern Ca a disaster area, we are able to provide “qualified disaster assistance payments,” which are not subject to federal employment tax. Assistance is intended to cover unexpected, out-of-pocket expenses attributable to the qualified disaster, and can cover reasonable and necessary personal, family and living expenses.  Assistance is not intended as wage replacement or wage supplement.
