University of La Verne Names Wendy Lau Distinguished Alumna of the Year for 2014
The College of Law is extremely proud that Wendy Lau, a member of its Board of Visitors, was honored by the University of La Verne as Distinguished Alumna of the Year during its Homecoming Weekend 2014 festivities.
After graduating from La Verne in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in English, Lau went on to earn a Juris Doctor from Pepperdine Law. An attorney with the firm Wood Smith Henning & Berman, LLP, she serves on the University’s Board of Trustees along with her work with La Verne Law’s Board of Visitors.
Lau has been a great friend to the College of Law in many ways – speaking at admissions events, supporting La Verne Law’s bar support program, hiring La Verne Law students and more. She has also served the University as a chapter key advisor for her sorority, as a mentor to first-generation and graduate students, and at events like Spotlight Weekend and Admitted Students & Parents programs. She is a member of the International Board of Directors for Phi Sigma Sigma’s Supreme Council, the Board of Directors for Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation, and was recently appointed to the City of La Verne’s Planning Commission.
