First Ever Golf Classic Tees Off Support for Athletic Excellence

Student Golfer

The University of La Verne Athletics Department is hosting an inaugural Leopard Nation Golf Classic on Thursday, May 23rd at the beautiful Upland Hills Country Club. This event is designed to raise funds to enhance the student-athlete experience.

“We created the Leo Nation Golf Classic to connect with the community in a fun way, and to provide opportunities to unite in support of our incredible student-athletes who dedicate so much to their sport and to the University,” said Jenna Panatier, director of athletics.

Everyone is invited to a day of friendly competition, community building, and philanthropy. Participants will enjoy a fun round of golf, while also having the opportunity to reminisce and celebrate student athletes. There will also be  networking opportunities, food, raffles, auctions, and more opportunities to participate. Proceeds generated from the event will provide crucial financial support for various aspects of the Athletics Department, including: team travel, post-season play, team activities, field and practice equipment, player gear, and facility upgrades.

The University of La Verne is a non-scholarship NCAA Division lll institution and member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). Approximately 480 student athletes currently participate in 20 varsity sports. Collectively, Leopard programs have won 96 championships (National, SCIAC, SCIAC Postseason Tournament).
