“Aunt Flow” Initiative

“Aunt Flow” Initiative at the University of La Verne

About the Initiative

The “Aunt Flow” Initiative was launched in 2022 by the Residence Hall Association in partnership with the Office of Housing and Residential Life to support student well‑being and ensure access to essential hygiene resources.

The program provides free menstrual product dispensers in women’s and gender‑neutral restrooms within the residence halls. These dispensers offer emergency, single‑use items for students who need unexpected support.

Purpose of the Program

The “Aunt Flow” Initiative is designed to provide free, single‑use menstrual products for immediate, unplanned needs. These products are not intended to replace personal supplies.

This initiative helps students:

  • Navigate unexpected situations with dignity
  • Reduce stress and disruption
  • Stay focused on academic and personal success

Where to Find Dispensers

“Aunt Flow” dispensers are available in:

  • Women’s restrooms in residence halls
  • Gender‑neutral restrooms in residence halls

Responsible Use

To help maintain access for all students, please use these resources responsibly:

  • Take only what you need at that moment
  • Avoid taking multiple items for stocking up

Responsible use helps sustain the program.

Restocking & Availability

Dispenser supplies are refreshed regularly by the Office of Housing and Residential Life. Because these products are intended for emergency, single‑use needs, availability may vary based on demand.

Need Additional or Ongoing Support?

If you don’t have personal access to these products and you need more than single‑use products or consistent access, the Leo Food Pantry offers free resources for students:
