Residential Life Staff

Professional Staff

Housing Professional Staff Members work to create a positive residential experience. Our staff is here to build community by hosting events, enforcing and following up with conduct concerns, supporting students in distress, and providing care in crisis situations. Our staff can often be seen around campus at events and in the dining hall integrating as a part of the community. Be sure to say hi as we love to get to know our residents to provide the best support possible as you navigate living on campus!

Resident Assistants (RAs)

RAs are continuing ULV students that have demonstrated success in the classroom and have a passion for community building, modeling healthy behaviors, and  being a support person to their peers. Our RAs are expected connect with their residents on a regular basis to create an environment in which residents feel safe, supported, and encouraged to become the best version of themselves. To achieve these results our RAs use a variety of methods:

  • 1:1 Conversations: Focused on getting to know you, your passions, and supporting you in what you choose to share with them
  • Host Events: We love bringing people together. We have had large events outside with activities like live music, line dancing, and open thrift markets. We also have smaller events in the halls that feature activities like mixing and mingling over desserts, building bouquets while watching your favorite reality TV show, or competing against peers in a series of challenges.
  • Bulletin Boards: We love to share knowledge in fun and creative ways. We make bulletin boards monthly to teach about topics like financial literacy, positive self talk, or sharing about different cultures.
  • Community Hours: RAs can often be seen on their floors looking to strike up a conversation with residents and offering to help with any housing related concerns you may have.
  • Conflict Mediation: Our RAs are here to help you navigate conflict with peers and roommates. They can help with advice, mediate conversations, and help you with next steps in housing processes.
