University of La Verne alumna Caroll Yule Named Most Inspirational Leader
University of La Verne alumna and High Desert realtor Caroll Yule received the award for Most Inspirational Leader at the Victor Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Accolade Awards on Dec. 7.
Yule, broker and owner of Shear Realty since 1996, expressed gratitude for the recognition.
“There is no greater honor than to be recognized by people that you love and admire, but it is the community that has blessed me with opportunities to be of service to others and to share a laugh from time to time,” she said.
The event in Victorville honored businesses and people in the community for their contributions to the High Desert. The Victor Valley Chamber has more than 500 members and its core area encompasses Victorville, Apple Valley, Hesperia, and Adelanto.
Yule, who received a bachelor of science in organizational management from the University of La Verne in 2009, manages Shear Realty offices in Apple Valley, Victorville, and Spring Valley Lake.
She is also heavily involved in community engagement, providing classes on job interviewing, dressing for success, and mentoring for “A Better Way” domestic violence shelter in the High Desert. Yule conducts mock job interviews with prison inmates preparing for release and provides leadership classes for the Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Yule has been honored with the 2010 Victor Valley Community College District Foundation Distinguished Community Service Award, the 2008 Boys Scouts of America High Desert Citizen of the Year, and 2003 Realtor of the Year from The High Desert Association of Realtors.
Victorville City Manager Douglas Robertson described Yule as an amazing woman whose class and grace is displayed in all her interactions with the community.
“She is a shining example of how to do things the right way and is truly an inspiration to me,” Robertson said.
The University of La Verne’s High Desert campus has served communities such as Victorville, Apple Valley, Hesperia, Barstow, and surrounding areas since 1982. The campus provides a number of graduate and undergraduate degree programs including a Master of Business Administration, public administration, teaching credentials, and child development.
