University of La Verne Receives Military Friendly® Gold Ranking

Military Veterans Students Success

The University of La Verne’s long-standing commitment to helping veterans reach their educational goals has been recognized by The Military Friendly® Company with its gold ranking for 2021-22.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. The institution is measured on its ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence, and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.

Approximately 500 military or veteran students enrolled in the University of La Verne in 2020, with about 350 of them studying on the central campus in La Verne. Two of the university’s regional campuses are located on military bases: Naval Base Ventura County and Vandenberg Air Force Base.

The newly named Sara and Michael Abraham Center for Veteran Student Success (ACVSS) provides assistance with VA and university paperwork, access to tutoring, computers, printing, and on and off-campus resources. ACVSS also promotes veteran community, engagement, assistance and advocacy for successful educational experiences and outcomes.
