University of La Verne Joins COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge

The University of La Verne announced on June 9 that it has joined the COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge. Hundreds of colleges and universities across the country are joining the effort initiated by the White House and the U.S. Department of Education to help end the pandemic by increasing vaccination participation among students and university communities.

University of La Verne Graduates 1,327 in Virtual Commencement May 29

Isabella Guzman took a break from her role as head of the nation’s Small Business Administration—a cabinet-level post—to tell graduates of the University of La Verne that “there is no greater measure of success than service to others, because it’s not enough to achieve for yourself alone. Your community, your city, your state, your country are only as strong as you make them.”

SBA Administrator Among Dignitaries Who Will Address University of La Verne Spring Graduates

Isabella C. Guzman, administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration and a member of President Joe Biden’s Cabinet, will address graduates of the University of La Verne’s College of Business and Public Management during its virtual commencement on May 29. Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury, Associate Justice and former Riverside County Justice Richard T. Fields, and University of Hong Kong Dean and Professor A. Lin Goodwin will also speak to the university’s spring 2021 graduates.

College of Law Teams Win Best Brief Awards at Moot Court Competitions

The University of La Verne’s College of Law won Best Brief in the ninth annual UCLA School of Law Cybersecurity Moot Court Competition that took place virtually on March 13. That same weekend, a second university team won Best Brief at the Hispanic National Bar Association’s 26th annual Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition, held remotely on March 12.
