Reproductive Healthcare Services

Multicultural Graduation Celebration
The Center for Multicultural Services collaborates with individuals from numerous departments to coordinate a multiculturally-based graduation celebration ceremony that complements the university’s commencement ceremonies. The multicultural celebration acknowledges and celebrates the achievements of La Verne students and highlights the accomplishments of individuals within the student’s familial and cultural context. The multicultural celebration does not replace the formal graduation commencement ceremonies.
LGBTQ+ students who are graduating are encouraged to participate. Each student is bestowed with a cultural sash during the ceremony and includes the option of a Rainbow/Lavender sash. For more information, please contact the Center for Multicultural Services.

Belongingness Series
The Community Building for Belongingness Series is a 7-part series of workshops. The goals of this series are 1) to to engage participants on a multiplicity of human relations issues in an interactive experiential model; 2) to explore the context of how stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination, and systems of oppression thrive and are interrupted; and 3) to work toward our holistic growth and ongoing development of an inclusive and equity minded learning community.
At the conclusion of the series, attendees who attend 3 or more of the sessions receive a Certificate of Participation, indicating the hours attended.

Safe Zone Training
In this in-person workshop, participants learn about allyship with LGBTQ+ individuals and communities, and work through scenarios that may come up in higher education settings. Given our context as a Hispanic-Serving Institutions, participants will also receive current resources and research related to diverse LGBTQ+ identities and learn strategies for supporting the University of La Verne’s student body and community. This workshop is provided especially for faculty and staff at the University of La Verne.
