The Office of Civic and Community Engagement (OCCE) is a testament to the University of La Verne’s dedication to its founding core values and commitment to collectively improve and enhance local, regional, and global communities by empowering students to be civically engaged and responsible leaders in their communities.
OCCE is excited to introduce all new students to their FIRST ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE of the year! On this day, all new students will have the opportunity to engage with their fellow peers, FLEX faculty, and La Verne staff members in a service project with one of our partnering community-based organizations. From community gardening to environmental conservation, advocacy, and supporting vulnerable populations, students will be presented with several community engagement opportunities!

What is GivePulse?
GivePulse is the University of La Verne’s official community engagement platform. It is an online network of students, faculty, staff and community partners that connects the University members to service opportunities in the community. Everyone with a La Verne email has access to GivePulse. You can use the quick guide and reference sheet to help you get started.
