Jarrett, an advisor to President Obama, gave a talk and signed books in the university’s newly-opened Ludwick Center for Spirituality, Cultural Understanding, and Community Engagement as a fundraiser for YWCA of San Gabriel Valley.
Dan Jerz and Christopher Norman took first place in the comedy or drama category of the association’s Festival of Media Arts student competition. William Hernandez won an award of excellence in the specialty show category.
The gift will support upgraded facilities, state-of-the-art equipment, and additional faculty in the newly-named Nathan Chow Program of Film and Television.
